The architect-designed mews house in Edinburgh's New Town is beautifully appointed with lots of style. It is sandwiched between the delightful 'village' of Stockbridge and the lively Broughton Street area in a quiet cobbled lane just 10 minutes' walk from Princes Street and the Old Town beyond.

The house sleeps nine and is suitable for families or groups of friends. We welcome hen parties and stags.

The accommodation is arranged over three floors. As you enter, the master bedroom is on the ground floor, with a bath and shower on a mezzanine within the room. The separate toilet can be accessed from the bedroom and from the hall. To the rear, there is a sheltered deck/barbecue area.

Up one flight of stairs is a wonderful light and airy open plan kitchen, living and dining area. The dining area has a table that seats 8 comfortably and a fully equipped kitchen, which meets the criteria set by Visit Scotland four star accommodation. There is a 37" flat screen TV, DVD, free WiFi, an all-in-one A4 printer and a library of books and films. The two sofas convert into generous single sofa beds for extra accommodation.

The second double or twin bedroom is on the lower ground floor. Next door the third bedroom has a single bunk bed at high level, a double bunk bed underneath and a single futon. There is a family shower room with a toilet for guests on this floor.

The integral garage (approx. 2m wide by 4.5m long by 1.75m high) is suitable for one small car. There is metered parking in surrounding streets and free parking from 5.30 pm evenings and weekends.

On your first night you’ll find a bottle of wine waiting for you, so there’s no need to do anything but settle in and enjoy. You can even order breakfast in advance and we’ll put it in the fridge for you.

IMPORTANT NOTICE (updated end August 2017): WE HAVE AN EMPTY BUILDING PLOT ADJACENT TO OUR HOUSE. GROUND WORKS STARTED IN FEB 2017 TO BUILD ANOTHER MEWS HOUSE BUT THERE HAS BEEN LITTLE PROGRESS TO DATE. THE BUILDER INDICATED A 6-MONTH PROGRAM BUT HE CAN’T CONFIRM WHEN CONSTRUCTION WILL ACTUALLY GET UNDERWAY. UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THIS SITUATION. WHEN WORK DOES START ACCESS TO OUR HOUSE AND GARAGE FROM THE EAST END OF THE LANE SHOULD NOT BE AFFECTED BUT AS WITH ALL WORK OF THIS NATURE THERE WILL INEVITABLY BE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF DIRT, DUST AND NOISE. OUR NEIGHBOUR HAS ASSURED US THAT NOISE WILL BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM WHENEVER OUR HOUSE IS OCCUPIED. THERE SHOULD BE NO WORK ON SATURDAY AFTERNOONS OR SUNDAYS.
