Sitting alongside the banks of the Water of Leith, Modern One has bright, spacious rooms for both temporary exhibitions and permanent collection displays, and a print room which is open by appointment.  It also houses the conservation workshop for all the National Galleries, as well as a cafe and shop.

Modern Two is surround by beautiful landscaped gardens and boasts one of the most extensive collections of Dada and Surrealist art in the world, as well as works from the Turner Prize-winning Rachel Whiteread and famous Edinburgh son Sir Eduardo Paolozzi.
